DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement numbers TJ‑968‑0 (3)‑31 and TJ‑968‑0 (2)‑31 between the Iowa Department of Transportation, Dubuque County and the City of Dyersville, transferred Unsigned Iowa 968 to local jurisdiction on November 29, 1989 and should be removed from the Primary Road System.

 

Unsigned Iowa 968 begins at 11th Street in Dyersville and travels southeasterly to US 20.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that Unsigned Iowa 968 and its extension in Dubuque County, be deleted from the Primary Road System.

 

Old Description – Unsigned Iowa 968 and its extension in Dubuque County described as follows:

 

Dyersville:

 

Beginning on 2nd Avenue Southeast at 11th Street Southeast; thence southeasterly on 2nd Avenue Southeast to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of Dyersville, connecting with 2nd Avenue Southeast; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 33‑T89N‑R2W to a point approximately 600 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence east to a point on the south side of the Illinois Central Railroad approximately 1,990 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence in a southeasterly direction along the south side of said railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Section 4‑T88N‑R2W to a point approximately 400 feet west of the east line said Section 4 (junction US 20).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Unsigned Iowa 968 in Dubuque County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 968 in Dubuque County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Unsigned Iowa 968 and its extension in Dubuque County as follows:

Beginning on an unnamed street at 11th Street Southeast; thence southeasterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Dyersville, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 33‑T89N‑R2W to a point approximately 600 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence east to a point on the south side of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad approximately 1990 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence in a southeasterly direction along the south side of said railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Section 4‑T88N‑R2W to a point approximately 400 feet west of the east line said Section 4 (junction US 20).

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Dyersville, connecting with 2nd Avenue Southeast; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 32 and 33‑T89N‑R2W to a point approximately 600 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence east to a point on the south side of the Illinois Central Railroad approximately 1990 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R2W; thence in a southeasterly direction along the south side of said railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Section 4‑T88N‑R2W to a point approximately 400 feet west of Section line 3‑T88N‑R2W connecting with US 20.


 

 

NOW, THEREFORE:  Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 968 in Dubuque County, Iowa.
